The understanding of the value of public space has been rising since the turn of the 21^st Century. The theme of this year’s architecture biennale in Venice is public space. Our group, space and place’s aim has always been to animate and celebrate the wonderful free space we have here in Vienna. And so Eugene will make a presentation on why public space matters, for democracy, freedom and also to build communities. He will explore the meaning of the concept, how it is endangered, and how to use it better.
