Here we try something different.
Persy Bulayumi and Eugene Quinn invite friends, writers and creative locals to bring their Graetzl alive with words and ideas. Through spoken word, we want to get insider details about this fast-changing part of north Vienna.
It is a playful way to animate the streets, and bring new perspectives on familiar places. How can we connect residents through poems, stories and identity-building? Who lives here, and what do they like about Kagran? Placemaking is a recent trend in urbanism, to invite people out onto their local streets to play together, chat, dance, create or just hang out.
Persy is from Kagran and has been writing in various formats for many years, including for an advertising agency.
Alongside the contributions from locals, Eugene and Persy will show you some key buildings and developments in south Donaustadt. Stadt Wien has developed a masterplan for this district, which will improve the look, feel, arts and mobility in Kagran, which we will explore.
