This is a storytelling swim-walk.
Vienna is located where it is because of the river Danube. We will walk along some of the original flow of the river, ending with a collective swim. Along the way we will explore why Vienna water tastes so good, how often it rains in the city, why the city does not get flooded, why the river was moved in the 19th century and how the Danube is both a social barrier and a cool sporting opportunity.
The river flows from the Black Forest in Germany to the Black Sea in Romania . black-to-black. The water takes around 18 minutes to flow through our city.
This tour is a part of Vienna Walking Week, 17 tours in 8 days, which show the Viennese new perspectives on their home town. We celebrate the city, in all its modern complexity.
