How diverse is Vienna in 2025? And how deep does its international food scene go? We will take a look at migration into the city, and how we foreigners have changed our new hometown. Looking at politics and statistics, but also culture and smells, we make a world tour of unusual cuisine. You must reserve places on this walk, so that we can tell the restaurants how many people are coming. After a stroll looking at some of the variety of groups who have moved here, we eat a first course in a Peru restaurant, then an Ethiopian main course (with our fingers), and then a Romanian dessert. One of the issues we will discuss is how authentic the food is, and how it changed for Viennese tastes and sensibilities.
This is a part of Vienna Walking Week, our attempt to save the world - by holidaying at home.
