DJ EUGE PLAYS THE OPENING of first ever Österreichische Fußverkehrsgipfel von BMK in Graz

Eugene is a political DJ, always aiming to score extra cultural points by connecting cool beats with important messages and ideas.

And so he is invited to open the first ever Austrian Walking Summit, in Graz, in 2025. He was also asked to provide the soundtrack for Walk21 in Vienna in 2015, THE global walking conference inside Rathaus, only playing songs about Walking.

Thanks to Bernhard Kalteis from the Klimaschutz Ministerium, for his vision in inviting Whoosh to this important event, celebrating sustainable mobility, both in cities and the land.

From 23-25 September 2025, experts from around the world will join locals to explore the potential and future of walking. There is a big campaign called Österreich zu Fuss, to recognise all the possibilities for better communities, healthier bodies and minds, and more connections in your life. Graz has appointed a new walking commissioner, to prioritise walking when lobbying is needed. It is free medicine, but still undervalued by most people. And of course this is not our first engagement with the Ministry, since we have spoken at conferences before, and organised Silly Walks on Austrian National Day. The event will be a cooperation between Stadt Graz, Land Steiermark and klimaaktiv (BMK).

Euge will DJ the opening event on the Tuesday 23rd Sept, from 19-22, in the Old University, with 300 people dancing to tunes like Walk on the Wild Side, These Boots are made for Walking, Walking on the Moon, Walk the Line, and Radetzky Marsch.
