Urban Future Conference Ljubljana: Just Streets EU Horizon project - Eugene presents on BETTER USES FOR STREETS THAN CARS

Urban Future is the largest smart city event in Europe, moving cities each year. Whoosh has been a part of nearly all of them, from Norway to Poland.

This year, as part of a session on Just Streets EU Horizon project, we will look at street transformation through the lens of justice.

Eugene has been invited to kick-off the discussion, with a lively PowerPoint on the theme of adapting street space into something more interesting and social than just cars. He will bring humour and provocation to a widely debated topic, where the automobile lobby and car drivers seem to shout the loudest.

We will explore how cities 'align top-down leadership and bottom-up momentum, and on how a shared vision of a just street, a clear strategic direction and credible communication help make street transformation understandable, legitimate and workable in practice. We want to open the space, challenge assumptions and wake everyone up.
