What connects Eurovision with style?
Everything! It’s not just the songs that bring the flair and vibe of contributing nations to the stage, but also the style that makes the show what it is: colourful, cheeky, eccentric, proud, ridiculous, surreal, political, freaky, celebratory, sexy,…
And Vienna is always good for suprises beyond its chilly, understated cool. Everyone knows Viennese music, the palaces, and cake, but there’s also the queer scene, humorous Vienna, and a creative scene that flourishes in the least expected corners of the city.
We are inviting you on a very different Style Tour through Vienna, with 3 distinct guides:
Germany’s Next Topmodel 2022 Winner and international model, Lou-Anne Gleissenebner, Vienna’s most renowned storytelling walker, Eugene Quinn, and fair fashion rebel, author and GNTM’s first Best Ager finalist, Martina Gleissenebner-Teskey, will guide you to Vienna’s insider style corners.
Londoner Eugene launched his now famous “Vienna Ugly” tour in 2015, exactly when Eurovision was in town, showing locals sides of their own city they do not perceive (and three times paying a fine to the authorities for making illegal tours - great marketing). Lou-Anne represents a young, cosmopolitan generation with a distinctive - and sometimes dismissive - view on things the older generations do and say. And Martina is the expert when it comes to the small special labels and shops that are the future of fashion.
The three of them could start a fiery discussion over what’s style (or not) – providing something unique and memorable: uncovering lesser-known city- & fashion- treasures, chat with producers, and even find a special piece or two - and most importantly: go home with new friends.
This is part of a series of tours, celebrating local production and creativity, plus the visual markers that make our home unique.
Meeting Point: Stadthalle (home of Eurovision), Roland-Rainer-Platz 1, 1150 Vienna
