This is an alternative walk - and Eugene's first in Yorkshire, where he grew up. Britain has not been going through a great moment, recently. But Eugene finds that Hebden has many solutions for problems the UK faces. This is a town with a strong identity, with resilience, and beauty. It is hidden, but also distinctive and gritty. We will explore the culture, the location, history, politics and the social mix which makes this little corner of West Yorkshire so colourful.
Eugene Quinn spent much of his youth in Leeds, not so far from Hebden, and his Ma Noirin Quinn, has lived here in the town for more than 20 years. She will be part of the walk, and played a large part in the skatepark becoming a reality. Please come along and celebrate an important space in UK placemaking and belonging. Invite your friends. No registration possible - just be there.
